U.S. Bank and Hovde West Johnson LLC have closed on a $49 million loan that will finance the construction of Ovation 309, a downtown mixed-use living center at 309 W. Johnson St. When complete, Ovation 309 will include a 14-story apartment tower with 255 units, 9,500 square feet of retail and nearly 44,700 square feet of office space –including an office condominium for the city of Madison Fire Department’s administration.
The Waunakee Village Board Tuesday approved an economic incentive package for Hovde Properties to help finance construction of a multi-unit commercial building on the Koltes Lumber site.
Building shelters for vulnerable children around the world is a longstanding mission for Hovde Properties and the company’s charitable-giving vehicle, the Hovde Foundation.
In 2014, local volunteers traveled to rural Peru to work on a special project at the Hovde House, which provides a temporary shelter, rehabilitation programs, and reintegration services to victims of abuse. Hovde employees were joined by a group of contractors working on Hovde’s downtown Madison luxury high-rise apartment building, Ovation 309, to build a new playground for the girls at the shelter. Using locally sourced materials like bamboo and used tires, the playground brings joy and laughter to the 40+ children who are recovering from extreme sexual abuse and violence. Special thanks to the folks and firms who generously donated their time and expertise to make this happen: Findorff, US Bank, Siegel-Gallagher, Strang, and Eppstein Uhen Architects.
