Dimension IV Madison Design Group is pleased to announce that it was the recipient of three awards last week during the AIA Wisconsin 2017 Conference of Architecture and the IIDA sponsored Celebrate In Design 2017 Design Competition. The AIA award was one of seven awards presented, out of a total of 75 building projects submitted. One distinguished jury comment was, “The architect took a brutalist building and re-invented it, giving it new life and making it look more vital and alive. The incisions in the exterior are well done – they transform the building while still maintaining its original character.” The two IIDA awards were for design excellence in the healthcare and corporate sectors. These awards highlight the best of design in Wisconsin within the interior design community.
The existing 12-story office building was designed in 1970 and constructed as a fortress in response to the unrest of the 1960s and to house phone company workers without the distractions of daylight and views to the exterior. Located in Verona, Wisconsin, Noel Manor Retirement Facility provides a continuum-of-care campus for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents.
