Mr. Geurts has over 30 years of experience in the real estate development, corporate real estate, design and construction, and facilities management industries. Prior to joining Hovde, while at two fortune 1000 corporate real estate firms, he managed a 30-person multi-disciplined design and construction team that delivered $300M in global capital construction work. He also assisted in securing $525M in corporate real estate account service work for fortune 1000; financial, industrial, life sciences, oil and gas, and technology clients. In addition, Doug has managed all aspects of over $475M in real estate development projects as well as program managing another $500M of fortune 1000 capital work.
He has experience with land development (residential subdivisions, corporate campuses, and business parks), deep foundation – post-tensioned high-rise and mid-rise residential and commercial projects, historic renovation tax credit developments, manufacturing (including fabrication “FAB’s”) plants, R&D, warehouse distribution, corporate office, class A office, medical office, multifamily residential, senior living (assisted and memory care), and data center product types.
Doug has an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture from UW – Madison, an MBA – In finance from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and completed the Harvard Mentor program in 2016. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Wisconsin. Doug has coached multiple sport youth athletics with MTSD, chaired multiple association committees, and served as an associate vice president for multiple terms.
