MADISON – Downtown Madison continues to be a dynamic hub for living, business, and entertainment. That being said, a significant milestone will be taking place to mark the construction of what will be one of the City’s most notable landmarks.
In collaboration with Hovde Properties and Eppstein Uhen Architects, Findorff will be celebrating the topping‐off of Ovation 309 as construction crews recently poured the building’s 14th floor. A ceremonial steel beam will be signed by the project’s team members and later built into the facility’s structure. Last week a traditional evergreen tree was also hoisted atop the building to mark diligent efforts in constructing the building’s highest level.
“In choosing a construction company to build Ovation 309, Hovde Properties landed on one of Madison’s most experienced and respected,” said the President of Hovde Properties, Mike Slavish. “Findorff was the right choice for a number of reasons. We needed a partner with the experience of doing complex infill projects and the ability to deliver on schedule.” The connection Hovde Properties and Findorff shares dates back to almost 90 years ago, when Findorff constructed the Hovde Building, where the developer still houses its corporate offices.
Ovation 309 was developed as a partnership between the City of Madison and Hovde Properties. This signature project exemplifies how the relationship between a developer and neighborhood collaborated to create an innovative, modern development to enhance the character of the City’s downtown. Specifically, this multi‐use building will feature 248 residential units, retail and commercial space, as well as house administrative operations for the Madison Fire Department.
